These words and actions reflect our brand — the way we wish to be seen by employees, customers and our communities. Join PRCA-B for our 2016 Fall Workshop, “It’s Your Story: Own It,” Thursday, Nov. 10, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Vulcan Park and Museum. Erik Stolhansk, with game on Nation, a national firm specializing in communication, leadership, character development and media training, will deliver a dynamic session on the art of telling a story and the science behind sharing a successful message. We’ll also hear from Birmingham photographer Bob Farley with expert tips on how to make your stories come alive with strong images, and he’ll be providing free head shots for attendees. It’s a value-packed, can’t miss event. Save the date.
Cost is $25 for students / $35 for PRCA-B members pre-pay / $50 for PRCA-B members / $65 for guests

Erik Stolhanske – What’s Your Story (Two-part session)
Your story is constantly changing. How do you maintain a sense of confidence and expertise in the media spotlight when the rules of the game are in flux? Join Erik for an interactive, results oriented program focusing on the art of story and the science behind sharing a successful message. The goal of any presentation is for the audience to not only care about your message, but to remember its meaning long-term. This dynamic workshop delivers new communication skills that will help you innovate and stay ahead of the curve. Ready… Set… game on!
Erik Stolhanske is a senior communication consultant for game on Nation, LLC. He is an actor, writer and producer and member of the comedy group Broken Lizard, probably best known for his role as “Rabbit” in the hit comedy Super Troopers. Stolhanske also appears in The Onion Movie, The Sweetest Thing and Watching The Detectives. On television, Erik has appeared on the HBO critically acclaimed series Curb Your Enthusiasm and Six Feet Under. A few of Erik’s clients include NASCAR, the Pittsburgh Pirates, Wounded Warrior Project, Colgate University, Florida State University football, and the U.S. Airforce and Army in partnership with the USO. Born without a fibula, Erik overcame his disability to become one of Hollywood’s most popular comedians and has surprised many of his fans with his appearance in the popular exercise program P90X. He is now speaking to audiences across the country, telling his poignant and often humorous story of overcoming obstacles and persevering, even when the odds are stacked against you.
Bob Farley – The Art of Visual Storytelling
Birmingham photographer, Bob Farley, specializes in photography of people and special events. Bob spent nearly 20 years honing his skills as a photographer and editor with the award-winning Birmingham Post-Herald. Since 2005, he has brought his background in photojournalism to help his clients tell their stories in editorial publications, corporate communications, marketing and advertising.
Bob’s expansive background in photojournalism has helped him create a knack for getting the perfect shot, quickly and effectively – even in the most challenging of circumstances. Bob will share some of the industry’s coveted tricks for getting that perfect photo yourself. And, when you need to leave the picture taking to the professionals to ensure you get your perfect shot.
