The communications director develops and implements comprehensive communications that provide education/awareness to the community about the programs and services of the Foundation, positions the Foundation as a philanthropic leader and trusted philanthropic partner, and ensures effective communications to maintain excellent donor relations. Wilbron Inc. – Public Relations Internship (non-paid)

Wilbron Inc. offers a unique and rewarding internship experience for public relations,
communications, marketing and journalism college students. Through the public relations
internship, students build their portfolios and gain valuable experience in the field through
participation in featured projects including writing PR and marketing strategies; writing news
releases and pitching the media; developing social media calendars, posting and monitoring;
photo shoots and video production; event planning and much more. This internship is non-paid.

Local Marketing Manager

Job Description: The local marketing manager will support the Company’s brand strategy and marketing and communications goals by supporting marketing and communications plans for local hospital markets. Working with a variety of individuals and Company department contacts, this role will develop applicable content for areas of communication including traditional and digital/social media. With all responsibilities, this position will implement and uphold the Company’s branding standards and voice. As appropriate, the scope of responsibility will include project management to meet company and marketing objectives. This position will support cultural diversity by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.

Qualifications: Education, Training and Years of Experience:
– Bachelor’s degree in mass communications, public relations, advertising or journalism required.
– Experience working for a company that serves a national or larger geographic footprint preferred
– Strong knowledge of AP style writing
– Experience working in healthcare or another regulated industry preferred.
– Must be knowledgeable of Microsoft Office products
– Must be willing to learn new programs and technology as it relates to job responsibilities
– Must have 3-5 years of direct experience working in a communications and/or marketing role

Communications Project Coordinator

Job Description: The Communications Project Coordinator provides a broad range of skills to support the company’s marketing and communications plan. Scope of responsibility includes project management in support of several communication channels; creating content for various messages; contributing to the company’s internal communications strategy; and coordinating employee events and community-based projects. This position will support cultural diversity by promoting and maintaining an inclusive work environment and culture that is respectful and accepting of diversity.

QualificationsEducation, Training and Years of Experience:
– Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field
– 1-3 years of experience in communications or related field
– Project management experience preferred


Corporate Communications Internship, Children’s of Alabama

Children’s of Alabama is offering an internship for third or fourth-year journalism, communications, marketing, and public relations students. This position is based out of the Corporate Communications office on Birmingham’s Southside. A monthly stipend is provided. College credit available.
