Giving Goes Mobile: The Rise of Cause Marketing and What It Means for Your Organization

July Joint Meeting with PRSA

Started about two years ago at Birmingham’s own Innovation Depot, Planet Fundraiser is changing the way we give. Through its mobile app, customers are able to shop, snap and give – supporting the schools and nonprofits they want through everyday purchases from the Planet Fundraiser network of shops, restaurants and grocery stores. A percentage of each purchase is donated to each person’s charity of choice. Not only does this provide more funding for these organizations, but it also allows businesses to see what causes are most important to customers.

Join PRCA-B/PRSA for a joint luncheon Tuesday, July 10, from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. as we hear from Planet Fundraiser’s co-founders, CEO Kasey Birdsong and COO Drew Honeycutt, about the company’s startup and growth, the evolution of charitable giving and with it, the emergence of cause marketing. The meeting will be held at Samford University, Cooney Hall, Regions Community Resource Room (Room 400).
